MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Seabird and Penguin Rehabilitation Centre (SAPREC) has expressed a "heartfelt thank you to each and every one who assisted the centre during the difficult time of the lockdown".
A spokesperson for the centre said: "We really appreciate it. We will be open again for visitors from 1 September."
SAPREC is in Voorlopersingel, Mossdustria, on the R327 outside Mossel Bay, on the way to Cape Town.
Visting fees are R50 per adult and R20 per child under the age of 12. Visiting times are during the feeding times of the penguins, which start at 09:00 and 14:00 daily.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the endangered African penguins and see them up close," the spokesperson said. "We look forward to seeing you."
Only small, private groups are allowed during lockdown level 2; six people are allowed in at a time. Call 071 643 2496 to arrange a visit. See www.saprec.org.
