MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay resident Cheslin Goliath (24), whose naked body was found over the past weekend behind a house in Asla Park, was known for his love for cosmetic products.
Cheslin was a well-known face at the cosmetic counter at Edgars in Langeberg Mall.
Staff at the store told the Mossel Bay Advertiser that women always asked for Cheslin to help them with their make-up and beauty products.
Police have opened an inquest docket following his death and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated.
It is alleged that Cheslin died from a heart attack.
Store manager, Madoda Mzileni says Cheslin started working at Edgars in 2016. "He started his job here by opening new accounts but he was very interested in the beauty department and was soon thereafter appointed as a Kelso consultant."
Mzileni says Cheslin was a dedicated employee. "He loved looking beautiful and was a very ambitious young man. He wanted to study and he also had a dream of moving to Cape Town to get exposed to another life besides the small town of Mossel Bay."
Cheslin's distraught aunt, Dina Botha, told the Advertiser that his mother, Maria Goliath, especially, was heartbroken.
"We are devastated. Cheslin was a soft soul and a loving and caring person. He was very calm and was popular among his friends. We have many questions, with no answers."
Police spokesperson Sgt Kapp from the KwaNonqaba Police Station says police are waiting for the post mortem report. "At this stage no foul play is expected and we have opened an inquest docket. The investigation is ongoing." Cheslin lived with his mother and also has a brother who is in his 30s.
A service will be held at 09:00 tomorrow, Saturday, 1 February, in Makaba Street at 7de Laan. His funeral will take place at the All Saints Church at 10:00.
