MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay's spectacular Pinnacle Point Estate has won gold for the second consecutive year as the Most Popular International Golf Course at the 19th annual Golf Journal Travel Awards.
The Golf Journal, based in Germany, celebrates the top golf courses, hotels, and travel destinations all over the world.
Despite the current global pandemic, the voting for Germany's most popular golf course award was not affected in any way, with the bulk of the votes being cast before the Covid-19 pandemic peaked.
The magazine also boasted a record number of participants in this year's awards poll.
Its article on The Golf Journal's online platform is headlined, "Africa at the tee", because a whopping nine of the top ten international courses are in Africa.
These include Pinnacle Point's fellow Garden Route gem, Fancourt's The Links, which took second place.
Pebble Beach in the United States is the only other course to be included in the list outside of Africa.
