MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A pedestrian suffered serious injuries on Friday morning, 21 June, after being hit by a truck on the N2 near the Langeberg Mall off-ramp.
According to Sergeant Chris Spies, provincial police spokesperson, preliminary information available indicates that the pedestrian, a 28-year-old woman, was dropped off by a minibus taxi.
“The woman crossed the road and was hit by a truck. She was taken to hospital for medical care,” said Spies.
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the incident at around 08:50, said Megan Davids, a spokesperson for the department.
Davids confirmed the pedestrian had been hit by a truck and was transported to hospital by private services.
Da Gamaskop police opened a reckless and negligent driving case following the incident.
