MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipality has received a new skip truck to replace one of the first-ever skip trucks in use. The old truck is a workhorse that has covered more than 590 000km.
The Municipality has a fleet replacement policy, and Waste Management incorporated the replacement of its fleet in the Integrated Waste Management Plan.
"We have now replaced one of our oldest skip trucks. The skip truck we are replacing did 590 000km and was one of the first skip trucks procured when the Municipality first introduced the skips," Senior Manager (Waste Management) Sivu Mtila explained.
The replacement of the fleet is necessary to ensure that service delivery standards are maintained at a high standard.
The Director of Community Services, Elize Nel, commended the personnel for the excellent maintenance of the municipal waste management fleet and urged the team responsible for the new truck to take as good care of the new asset.
