MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The water restrictions for the Mossel Bay municipal area were officially lifted today 8 May.
The Mossel Bay Municipality said that due to the recent weather event experienced throughout the Garden Route region, the Wolwedans Dam, Klipheuwel Dam and Ernest Robertson Dam have exceeded their capacities and the total available water supply for the Mossel Bay municipal area is now in excess of the 60% available supply required to impose the restrictions.
The municipality said it resolved, in line with the Water Demand Management Policy, to lift the restrictions set on 12 January, effective immediately.
“The residents of Mossel Bay are thanked for their cooperation during the restrictions and are requested to use water responsibly to ensure a sustainable water supply in the months to come,” it said.
