MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police’s Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) arrested eight people on various charges during an operation in Herbertsdale on Saturday 12 July.
Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, the station’s spokesperson, said two imitation firearms, some Mandrax tablets and methamphetamine (‘tik’) were seized as well.
He said the suspects face charges ranging from the possession of imitation firearms, the possession of a dangerous weapon and the possession of illicit substances.
Kapp said the operation was a result of an increase in crime in Herbertsdale over the last month. He said some of Mossel Bay Municipality’s law enforcement officers had assisted the unit during the operation.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court soon.
