MOSSEL BAY NEWS -  Three learners of Isalathiso Primary will be heading to the GrowSmart Mathematics semi-finals next month after their excellent performance at the Cape Town competition recently.

The GrowSmart competition is aimed at grades four, five and six learners. Teams of three compete against others for points, and the winning teams go to the next round.

The points are based on the number of mathematics problems that they solved correctly.
Learners Busisiwe Mfundisi, Linamandla Boyce and Misayethu Miso worked through mental math, Bodmas and problem-solving to progress to the next round, making their peers and teachers extremely proud.

Two other learners also went to Cape Town that weekend to participate in the provincial 2026 Sanlam WOW Spelling Festival - James Lerato for English and Mkrola Lesedi for isiXhosa. 

While they did not progress to the finals, the school said it was proud of what they had achieved.
