MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba police are appealing to the community of Barcelona for any information about someone who may have been pregnant until very recently, but who no longer has a baby.
This follows the gruesome discovery of a dead newborn baby's head and arm, all that was left after dogs presumably devoured the rest. Bite marks were noticeable on the body parts that were discovered.
The KwaNonqaba Police were called to a home in Sithela Street in Barcelona in the old part of KwaNonqaba at 06:30 on Monday, 19 March.
The owner of the house noticed his puppies playing with something. Upon closer inspection, he realised it was the body parts of, presumably, a newborn baby.
Behind his dwelling, the owner of the home found a bag with blood and police made the assumption that the bigger dogs in the vicinity may have eaten the rest of the tiny body. It seems the baby was carried to full term, yet was newly born.
Anybody with information is asked to call the investigating officer, Sgt Rudi Swanepoel (044 606 5600), of the KwaNonqaba police investigating unit.
All information will be dealt with in strict confidence and positive information may be well rewarded.
