MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A task team from the Hawks have taken over the investigation following a cash-in-transit robbery in Mossel Bay today.
Police earlier reported that two armed men robbed security guards that collected cash from the Mikeva Hyper at around 12:00 this morning. The robbery occurred while the cash was already in the possession of the security guards.
Spokesperson captain Philani Nkwalase says they cannot disclose the amount of money that has been stolen. He says a multi-disciplinary team is currently on the scene.
Nkwalase says no guards have been injured in the incident and that the investigation is ongoing. He says they are following up on information regarding the getaway vehicle. “We are following up on leads."
