MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Three suspects are scheduled to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Monday 17 May, in connection with the death of a Hartenbos man.
The man (76) was reported missing by friends on Friday evening, 14 May.
Police officers on patrol spotted the man’s vehicle on Louis Fourie Road, near the entrance to Hartenbos, at about 03:00 on Saturday, 15 May. They brought the Toyota Yaris, with three occupants, to a halt. The three were unable to account for their possession of the vehicle and were arrested on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.
Further investigation into the disappearance of the man, later that same day took police to his flat in Kaap de Goeie Hoop Avenue, Hartenbos. The police found the body of the man with head injuries. He was declared dead by paramedics on the scene.
The suspects remain in custody. They are facing charges of murder and possession of stolen property.
