MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Five babies were born at Mossel Bay Provincial Hospital on Christmas Day – four girls and a boy.
The hospital welcomed the first baby born on Christmas Day at 02:00 – a girl weighing 2.3kg.
“Western Cape Government Health congratulates the parents on the safe delivery of all the babies on Christmas Day and extends a sincere thank you to all our staff members, including midwives, for their hard work and dedication on this special day,” a spokesperson for the Health Department noted in a press release.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions at hospitals, Mossel Bay Advertiser could not take photographs of the babies. Staff are extremely hard pressed at hospitals owing to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases on the Garden Route, with the determined focus being the recovery of these patients and the prevention of the spread of Covid-19. Photos have been requested.
No babies were born on Christmas Day at the other hospital in Mossel Bay, Life Bay View Private Hospital.
