MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Executive Mayor of Mossel Bay Dirk Kotzé attended the Afro Fishing handover for donations of fish to community members and organisations who need it most.
The fish cannery recently donated fish to over 380 staff and 25 community organisations, some of which feed up to 140 people each.
Rodney Coghill, kitchen manager at Benevolent Park says: “The donations are a tremendous help for nonprofits such as ours. We do frail care work for the elderly and are currently feeding 140 people with the donations.”
He added that the fish is great because they can get creative with the meals.
“We offer fishcakes, fish pasta, fish pie and sandwiches which offers some excitement and variety in the meals to those we serve,” Cogill said.
