MOSSEL BAY NEWS - August is Women's Month. If you haven't yet planned something special, there are quite a few options to choose from the Mossel Bay Arts Festival calendar.
The Carpe Musicam! Quartet presents Let's celebrate… WOMEN! on 6 August in the Reebok Community Hall at 15:00. Come and listen to a festival of music on violin, piano, French and Flügel horn, recorder, flute and trumpet.
- Admission: R100 for adults, R50 for children under 18. Book at www.carpemusicam.co.za or pay cash at the door.
Santos Haven is holding a variety concert, Besing Vroue / Celebrate Women with Annette Strydom on 9 August.
- The concert will be held in the lounge at Santos 1 (capacity 200). The concert is for residents of Santos and surrounding retirement villages. Attendees are requested to make a donation. For more information, contact Annette (076 857 2900).
Petronel Baard and her band join forces with the Pinnacle Point Arts and Culture Association on 9 August for a lunch and screening of A Flower in Every Woman.
- Baard's 'n Blom in elke vrou toured the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival and she has already toured nationwide.
- The performance at 12:00 in the Pinnacle Point reception room is a journey of the four seasons with poetry and light classical music.

Vrouedag Verskafee en Musiek (Women's Day Poetry Café and Music) is a presentation by poets from Mossel Bay and surrounding areas on 9 August from 11:00 to 13:00 at Marguerite's Coffee and Art Café. Tribute will be given to women and women poets. For more details, contact Marguerite (072 447 6865).
