GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Food, local culture, the beauty of the countryside ... this and more will be part of the 6th Fragrance Fest on Saturday, 14 March.
It is the one day every year when all venues on the circular Fragrance Route open their doors!
This year's fest offers exciting new activities: a 5km and 10km trail run (moderate with hills) at the game farm Hakuna Matata, a 45-minute forest walk (medium to tough) at Molenrivier farm, walks and talks at Wolwedraai avocado farm where you can also taste and buy products, and at the quaint Searle Memorial Church, which turns 90 in June, pamphlets will be available for a DIY historic tour.
As always there will be stalls offering a variety of tastes and goodies at various stops: Hilltop Farm Stall, Brothers Coffee Roastery (voted 2nd best coffee roaster in SA in 2019), Avant Garden, Hakuna Matata, Molenrivier, the export protea farm Forest Hill, and the 150-year-old erstwhile mission station Friemersheim.
Booking is required for the Kobus Halliday Car Museum and Botlierskop Village Lodge restaurant, but a slideshow at the museum will be free.
Find a detailed programme with Fragrance Fest hours and stall information at www.proemb.co.za.
Printed programmes can be picked up at the Great Brak Museum, Mossel Bay Tourism, George Library and several businesses in the Mid-Brak area.
