GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS - A 45-year-old man from Bothastrand, Great Brak River, accused of possessing child pornography, intends to plead not guilty, his legal team told the Mossel Bay Regional Court this morning.
The suspect was arrested in May last year at his mother’s luxury home, where he resides.
Authorities allegedly found more than 1 004 explicit images and videos in his possession, including disturbing footage of infant victims.
Despite the serious charges, the suspect has not yet formally pleaded. In accordance with the law, his identity will remain protected until he pleads.
The case has been postponed to 13 October for trial. The accused remains out on bail.
