MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two men appeared for two separate cases on charges of possessing child pornography in the Mossel Bay Regional Court today, 15 November.
The one accused, a 25-year-old Da Nova resident, had been arrested on 2 February by the police's Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit in Mossel Bay and was charged after 217 images of child pornography were found allegedly in his possession.
He was denied bail on 3 May, following an appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court.
He appeared in regional court today where the matter was postponed to 10 December for the finalisation of a plea and sentencing agreement and he remains behind bars.
The other accused, a 45-year-old man from Bothastrand, Great Brak River, who was arrested in May last year when investigators came across explicit child pornography, allegedly saved on his electronic devices, also had his case remanded to 10 December.
It was postponed for the conclusion of the pre-trial conference. The man is currently out on bail of R5 000.
