MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mayixhale Street in KwaNonqaba remains closed to traffic.
Barriers have been erected on either side of the trench that was dug across the road this past weekend.
The community took matters into their own hands after a three-year-old boy was injured in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday when he tried to cross the street.
Community representatives remain adamant that the trench will remain until the municipality installs traffic calming measures to force motorists to slow down and stick to the speed limit.
