Alleged rape of 10-year-old: No bail, says community

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 58-year-old Mossel Bay man, accused of raping a 10-year-old girl, will hear in court tomorrow, Friday 3 March, if he has qualified for bail or not.

The suspect was arrested after he allegedly raped the child at her home in 7de Laan on 19 February. The man lives next door.

It is alleged that a medical report confirmed penetration.

The suspect appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court yesterday and made a formal bail application.

Community members told Mossel Bay Advertiser they had submitted a petition to the court and that the suspect must not get bail.
