Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A total of seven people were involved in a three-vehicle accident on the corner of George and Louis Fourie roads, Mossel Bay, on Tuesday 14 July.
One of the seven, a 60-year-old man, sustained serious injuries, and the emergency medical services declared him dead on the scene.
Warrant Officer Chris Spies, a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, confirmed that the accident had occurred at 18:00 that evening.
According to a spokesperson for the Western Cape Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Khayakazi Matanda, the remaining six patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, and they were transported to nearby healthcare facilities for further medical treatment.
Although the deceased’s identity is known to Mossel Bay Advertiser, it cannot be shared until his family has been contacted.
The Mossel Bay Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The exact cause of the accident is not yet known.
