MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Police have opened a culpable homicide docket after the driver of a bakkie was killed in an accident involving three vehicles at the corner of George and Louis Fourie roads in Mossel Bay last night, Tuesday 14 July.
According to a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, the preliminary information available suggests that the accident had occurred at 18:00.
The police and emergency medical services arrived on the scene to find the bakkie driver’s body with serious injuries, and they declared him dead.
“One other occupant also sustained injuries and received medical treatment,” said Spies.
The cause of the accident has yet to be established and will form part of the police’s ongoing investigation.
