Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay's Kane Johnstone (19) is currently swimming 13km from Dana Bay's First Beach to The Point, his third swim as part of the Project Deep campaign.
Kane set out early this morning, 19 September, from 1st Beach and is expected to end his swim at The Point from 13:00 onwards.
The Project Deep campaign, in partnership with local organisation Earth Legacy Foundation, is to raise awareness of Mossel Bay’s shark populations and to advocate for a proposed shark catch exclusion zone (Scez).
His first swim was 22km from The Point to Glentana Beach on 19 February this year and the second was 14.2km from Fransmanshoek to Dana Bay’s First Beach on 4 April.
