GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO | HESSEQUA NEWS - Anyone can become a superhero in the series of virtual runs planned for the rest of 2020, hosted by Sportsvendo.
They are partnering with institutions providing relief and making financial contributions to beneficiaries, such as Headstart Kids, who provide special nutritional food packs to children.
“Our target is to aid in the distribution of 150 000 meals or nutritional support over the remainder of the year,” the event organisers said in a statement.
According to them, the events are designed to empower women, men, and children from all walks of life to harness their favourite Justice League™ character and unleash the superhero within. Each event is superhero-themed.
Participants can walk or run a 2,5km, 5km, 7,5km event in their neighbourhoods. More active runners can take up 10km challenge, challenge themselves with each event and stand the chance of winning exciting prizes based on the honour system for submitting your results.
The events are as follows:
- Sunday, 9 August: Wonder Woman Run
