Update: Fire at Gouritsmond extinguished

HESSEQUA NEWS - Last night Firefighters from Garden Route District and Hessequa Municipalities managed to burn out a small mountainous area (south of the N2) near Gouritsmond to ensure that no flare-ups occur again. 

Over the past four days, this area saw many flare-ups due to high temperatures and windy conditions.

No more aerial firefighting will be used till further notice.
