MOSSEL BAY NEWS - As previously indicated, Eskom will be performing essential maintenance work at their Mossel Bay Substation from 08h30 to 16h00 on Thursday, 15 September, causing strain on the Mossel Bay Municipality’s internal distribution networks during the specific day.
The implementation of load shedding for this entire week has further complicated matters, as the supply to the PetroSA installation at Voorbaai needs to remain on.
During an emergency meeting today, 12 September Eskom has agreed to make available an alternative supply for the duration of load shedding from 14:00-16:30 on 15 September, in order to keep Voorbaai on.
The situation on the day of the outage will require a special configuration of the internal municipal network in order to use the alternative supply to provide power to Voorbaai. During load shedding on that specific day (15 September), Hartenbos and Hartenbos Heuwels will remain on.
More importantly, it must be noted that the CBD and surrounding areas that normally receive supply from the South 66kV Substation in Da Nova, will be off during load shedding on the day of the outage (15 September), and consumers need to make the necessary arrangements for this circumstance.
The areas that do not normally get load shedding, but WILL BE OFF for load shedding from 14:00 – 16:30 on 15 September 2022, are as follows:
1. CBD, including Upper Town, Lower Town, Linkside, The Point.
2. D’Almeida
3. Da Nova
4. De Bakke & Santos
5. Eastern portions of Heiderand, including Heiderand Mall
6. Fairview & New Sunnyside
7. Izinyoka & JCC
After completion of Eskom’s maintenance work at their Mossel Bay Substation, distribution networks will be returned to the normal configurations.
Further, it must be noted that the abovementioned arrangement will only be applicable during load shedding on the indicated date (15 September). Therefore, if Eskom suspends load shedding, no special arrangements will be required on the day, although consumers should still use electricity sparingly due to the network constraints as previously communicated.

MOSSELBAAI NUUS - Soos voorheen aangedui, sal Eskom noodsaaklike instandhouding doen by hulle Mosselbaai-substasie tussen 08:30 en 16:00 op Donderdag, 15 September 2022.
Die instandhoudingswerk sal druk plaas op Mosselbaai se interne kragverspreidingsnetwerk op die spesifieke dag.
Die implementering van beurtkrag vandeesweek het addisionele uitdagings geskep aangesien kragtoevoer na PetroSA se installasie in Voorbaai aan moet bly.
Tydens ‘n noodvergadering vandag, 12 September het Eskom ingestem om alternatiewe kragtoevoer beskikbaar te stel om Voorbaai tydens beurtkrag tussen 14:00-16:30 op 15 September, aan te hou.
Die situasie gedurende die kragonderbreking sal ‘n spesiale konfigurasie van die interne munisipale netwerk vereis ten einde alternatiewe kragtoevoer na Voorbaai moontlik te maak.
Gedurende beurtkrag op 15 September sal Hartenbos en Hartenbos Heuwels se krag aanbly.
Neem ook kennis dat die sentrale sakekerm en omliggende areas wat normaalweg kragtoevoer vanaf die Suid 66kV-substasie in Da Nova ontvang se krag sal af wees gedurende beurtkrag op 15 September en verbruikers word versoek om die nodige voorsorg te tref.
Die areas wat nie normaalweg beurtkrag kry nie, maar wat op 15 September vanaf 14:00-16:30 AF SAL WEES, is die volgende:
1. Sentrale sakekern, insluitend Bo-dorp, Onderdorp, Linkside, Die Punt.
2. D’Almeida
3. Da Nova
4. De Bakke & Santos
5. Die oostelike dele van Heiderand, insluitend Heiderand Mall
6. Fairview & New Sunnyside
7. Izinyoka & JCC
Nadat Eksom die instandhoudingswerk by die Mosselbaai-substasie afgehandel het, sal verspreidingsnetwerke na die normale konfigurasie terugkeer. Neem asseblief kennis dat die bogenoemde slegs van toepassing op 15 September is. Nadat beurtkrag verby is, sal geen verdere buitengewone reëlings van toepassing wees nie, maar verbuikers word versoek om steeds elektrisiteit spaarsamig te gebruk vanweë netwerkbeperkinge soos voorheen aangedui.
