MOSSEL BAY NEWS - As part of the October Food Security Month activities, the minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Senzeni Zokwana and the Western Cape MEC of economic opportunities, minister Alan Winde will observe World Food Day on Wednesday 24 October.
World Food Day is commemorated annually to create public awareness of the world food shortage and to strengthen solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.
The main event takes place at the Brandwag Sports Grounds from 11:00-14:00, with the hunger alliance march, exhibition stalls and the unveiling of the food mountain listed as some of the project highlights.
