GARDEN ROUTE NEWSFLASH - A Sedgefield motorbiker died in the Outeniqua Pass during what would have been his usual Sunday outing with a group of motorbike friends.
He lost control of his BMW GS motor bike and is believed to have had a blackout. His girlfriend, who was a pillion rider (sitting on the back), was taken to hospital with light injuries.
According to a long time friend Eddie Trauschweizer he became worried when he looked around and did not see his friend. Upon turning back he found his friend next to the road in the cement area after he had careened over a grassy verge.
He had had a medical procedure 3 weeks ago and had been suffering from heart problems for 3 years.
The name of the deceased is known to the George Herald but his name will only be published once his family have been informed.
