MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality thanks the several roleplayers who initiated a mobile testing station that will assist in the fight against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A pathologist who spearheaded the initiative said: "As Covid-19 inevitably descended upon Mossel Bay, we realised we need to be prepared and ready.
"Therefore, after a meeting with the healthcare professionals at Life Bay View Hospital, the provincial hospital, private laboratories and the municipality's disaster management and community services representatives, the municipality agreed to centralise patient testing for as long as Covid-19 testing has to be done."
For professional and ethical reasons the practitioner may not be named.
Mossel Bay municipal manager, Advocate Giliomee, thanked the doctor for the drive and dedication to establish the facility. He also thanked the medical professionals who will assist despite trying times to provide an additional service to the Mossel Bay community.
Three
Three accessible central locations for the entire Mossel Bay area were identified, away from other medical services, of which one would be mainly a drive-through service, and the other walk through services. The trial drive-through service will be in the De Bakke breach parking area.
