MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Residents of Ward Three in Asla Park had the opportunity to not only again meet face to face with their councillors, but also to have tea with the executive mayor of Mossel Bay, Alderman Harry Levendal.
On Thursday afternoon, 15 November the mayoral tea party in the Asla Park community hall was something special as the councillors themselves, with the help of a few of the locals, prepared the tasty meals for their ward's elderly residents.
On the menu was scrumptious meat and treats, lovingly prepared by councillors Bobelo and Fipaza.
While the food was being dished up, the mayor had an opportunity to mingle with the residents and to share in their stories.
He took extra care to listen to the elderly folk who went to great lengths to attend the occasion.
Mayor Levendal thanked not only the guests for taking the time to spend the afternoon with him, but councillors Bobelo and Fipaza for ensuring that a hearty meal could be served.
The mayor and councillors then also distributed food parcels and a number of blankets to people whose homes had been razed in fires.
