MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Not only was it glitz and glamour at Leolan Academy's annual ball, themed Casino Royale, on Saturday night, but true to form, the learners of Leolan were the showstoppers.
Looking suave in black, red and white outfits, they took part in the stage entertainment alongside guest performer, Antoinette Snyders, who delivered her rendition of two famous Bond movie theme songs, Golden Eye and Skyfall.
A highlight at Satruday's event, held at the Diaz Hotel, was international golfer Louis Oosthuizen and his wife, Nel-Mare's, attendance. Oosthuizen has been supporting Leolan, a learning centre in Da Nova for those with special needs, for several years.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house as the learners handed out handwritten letters to all the school's benefactors, which included Oosthuizen and his wife.
The couple were overwhelmed with the hugs of appreciation from the learners. An educator at the school, Delia Stuurman, delivered an insightful talk on the typical day teaching her adult class at Leolan.
The learners had tremendous fun on stage. They were part of the opening act.
"These are my children and I am proud of them. That is why you will find me at Leolan on Monday, and the next Monday and the next Monday," she concluded her speech, followed by generous applause from the audience.
Rosco Filies participated with enthusiasm as Antoinette Snyders sang two Bond movie theme songs.
