Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - James Botha (57), who is accused of the murder of a former York High School teacher, appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Tuesday, 17 April. Botha was arrested several days after the murder of the elderly Ron Wiggett.
The community of Great Brak River was shocked by the incident in September 2014 at Wiggett's home on the Island.
The neighbourhood consists of less than 90 homes and is considered an idyllic retirement location.
Wiggett was allegedly attacked and stabbed multiple times with a knife. Wiggett's wife discovered his body the morning after the murder.
Botha, who resided in Great Brak River, was arrested by members of the Great Brak River police but soon released because of a lack of evidence.
He was, however, arrested again after blood that was found at the scene was positively linked with blood on his pants.
Bail was previously denied to him and he remains in custody for the duration of the trial.
The case was postponed to 15 May for further trial.
