GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - In a statement issued by the Garden Route District Municipality, on 24 January, one wildfire is currently active in the Garden Route.
One wildfire remains active and one has been extinguished.
1. Mollenrivier, Louvain
Mopping up was concluded this morning after a small shed was destroyed. A small section of an orchard was affected yesterday afternoon.
2. Rooiberg Mountain wildire
The wildfire has an active line west of Nuwe Kloof, however burning in inaccessible terrain.
Teams continue to monitor this area. GRDM Fire Services Kannaland remains on alert for any threat to infrastructure. All infrastructure is safe at this stage.
