MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Garden Day, on 20 October, is just around the corner.
If you don’t already know, Garden Day is an altruistic movement looking to connect South Africans by their common love of gardening.
The call to action for Garden Day is to down tools, invite neighbours, friends and family round, wear a flower crown and celebrate your garden together.
But the most important thing to note about Garden Day is that it’s for everyone … whether you’re a beginner gardener, young, old, have a rolling lawn or an indoor plant.
Research shows that millennials are finding solace in gardening, and have vigorously taken on what is traditionally seen as a fairly laid back activity.
New research reveals that millennials aged 35 and under are more passionate about gardens than their older counterparts, but have less time to enjoy their benefits. The rise of the “plant parent” is the trend of people (particularly the youth), who may not have large gardens, embracing looking after and caring for plants.
