MOSSEL BAY NEWS - He is a family man, loves seeing the joy on people's faces, and is excited to be in the Mossel Bay area.
That is just a little something about Willie de Beer, Garden Route Casino's new complex general manager.
De Beer grew up in Vanderbijlpark, but recently relocated from Welkom to Hartenbos - he might not be staying in Welkom anymore, but the area's "warm-hearted, friendly people" certainly do make him feel welcome.
"Family is one of the most important things for me. I believe that having a supportive family and being part of a strong community are the most essential aspects of our lives," said De Beer.
He has been in the hospitality and entertainment industry for 25 years but has spent the last 13 years in the gaming industry. "Experiencing the joy on a customer's face when they win a substantial sum of money or a major prize is the most gratifying aspect of the industry."
As for his plans for the casino, De Beer said he wants the people of the Garden Route area to feel valued and appreciated as customers. The casino's customer-focused approach is something he would love customers to see. That and their great service and experience.
"There's always something exciting happening at Garden Route Casino, Hotel and Entertainment. From value-for-money food and beverage offers, and relaxing hotel stays, to thrilling slots and table games and exciting promotions and activating.
"We are currently busy with a major solar project, which not only alleviates the impact of load shedding on the casino but also benefits the surrounding area. Additionally, we take pride in offering a hotel as part of our services."
Being on the Garden Route has been an incredible experience for him thus far, from the natural beauty to the people.
"It’s not hard to see why Mossel Bay is the ultimate destination. My family and I have now moved into a lovely home in Hartenbos, and my son started school there. We are excited to start this new chapter in our lives within the community, and we are definitely here to stay."
