MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On Wednesday, 8 July, one of Mossel Bay's oldest residents passed away and "went to join her beloved husband, Ray, in God's Eternal Garden", the Mossel Bay Advertiser was informed.
Sylvia Palmer was born in Mossel Bay on 26 October 1919 and lived in the town for most of her life.
She was married in St Peter's Anglican church in 1940. She worked tirelessly for the church, running many rummage sales from her garage in Wassung Street.
Her 100th birthday last year was celebrated on her late son-in-law, Theunis Pienaar's farm, Voëlvlei, where his wife Elizabeth still lives.
The Advertiser was informed that: "For the last two years Sylvia resided at Onse Rus senior citizen's home, where she was looked after with dedication and love by a wonderful staff."
She will be sadly missed by her children, Allan, Elizabeth and Douglas, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
