Runaway wildfires affect large area
The Southern Cape is reeling after more than a week of runaway wildfires razed more than 86 000 hectares by Sunday afternoon, 4 November. Nine people have died and thousands have been displaced since the veld fires started. The scar left by these fires is four times the size of the 2017 Knysna/Bitou fires (22 000 hectares).
