ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Trevor Noah has died – again! The Internet has ‘killed’ the South African comedian twice in less than four months
A online publication called Houston News reported that Trevor died in a shooting incident in Orlando, Florida.
The publication claimed that the The Daily Show host was greeting fans after a concert when the shooting occurred… but we are happy to report that the incident was nothing but fake news.
Trevor got wind of news of his death, and decided to make light of the situation. He shared a screenshot of the report in question on Twitter.
“Fake News. I shot them,” he tweeted.
It’s not the first time the 33-year-old has been declared dead on the Internet
A fake news site reported in March that the comedian had died in a car accident.
He was apparently driving outside Potchefstroom in the North West when tragedy struck.
Trevor was all the way in USA at the time, and nowhere near the streetlight he apparently hit.
He is not the only local celebrity to be a victim of a death hoax
Comedian Trevor Gumbi’s mother was traumatised earlier this year when word spread that he had died.
“The worst part of this fake news story reporting that I died, is the fact that my mom, who is blind, had to hear from people calling her and she had to go through all those emotions before being able to get to a phone to call me,” he said on social media.
A report that DJ Black Coffee was found dead in a hotel room in Spain did the rounds in 2016.
AKA was also forced to address rumours of his untimely death in 2015. A Facebook post – complete with pictures – claimed the rapper had died in a car accident.
