GEORGE NEWS - The hilarious story of three brothers and a plan to adopt a baby will be showcased at the George Arts Theatre in September over a span two weeks, with a total of 10 shows to choose from.
Written by Ray and Michael Cooney, Tom, Dick and Harry promises to entertain those who love old-fashioned farce. The show is directed by Simoné Kleynhans.
Tom (Alexander Venter) and his wife (Joanelda Brandt; Chane Ferreira: understudy) are about to adopt a baby. His brothers are anxious to help make a good impression on the woman from the agency (Madie Calitz) who has arrived to check on the home and lifestyle of the prospective parents.
Unfortunately Dick (Quintin van Biljon), who has stashed boxes of smuggled brandy and cigarettes in the house, and Harry (Viaan Coetzee), who is in possession of a cadaver he plans to sell illegally to a medical school, fail miserably.
The adoption agency representative is aghast - and the illegal Croatian nationals (André Louw and Julie Brendan Powell) who do not speak English are no help at all!
Show dates are 15 to 18 and 22 to 25 September; with evening shows at 19:00 and a matinee on Saturdays and Sundays. The show is not for children under the age of 16.
Tickets are available at Computicket or at the theatre box office (125 York Street). For more information, phone the Arts Theatre on 044 873 3938 or WhatsApp 062 851 0751.
