Mossel Bay
The hum of high-powered marine outboards rose and fell above the sound of crashing surf, spray enveloping the craft that hit the swell at high speed. Then they raced around the point line astern, the pitch easing in the calmer water of the bay, the men relaxing after the gruelling high-speed rush at Mossel Bay last week. The shadowy figures of South African marines and recces on the dark hulls of their boats were an ominous spectacle as they rounded the Point.
