The 20-year-old superstar is entered in the 100-, 200-, 400-, 800- and 1 500-metre freestyle events in the five-day meet and is the top-seeded reigning world champion in all but the 100.
Ledecky captured 200, 400 and 800 freestyle Olympic gold last year in Rio, defending the 800 crown she won in London, and helped the US women's 4x200 relay win as well.
And with Michael Phelps having retired from competition with 23 Olympic titles and 28 medals plus 26 more world titles, Ledecky figures to be the American multi-event swim star for the next pool generation inspired by Phelps's feats.
