Moolman-Pasio earns third Cycle Challenge title

NATIONAL NEWS - Ashleigh-Moolman Pasio recovered from a crash to outclass an international field at the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge in Joburg on Sunday.

The local star, riding for the Bigla Pro Cycling team, became the first woman to win the annual road race three times. After hitting a pothole and coming off her bike, Moolman-Pasio clawed her way back to the peloton, closed down a breakaway and tore clear to secure an impressive victory.

“It was a bit of a challenge out there and I was quite shocked when I fell. It was a high speed crash,” Moolman-Pasio said after the race.

“I checked everything was ok and jumped back on the bike.
