FOOTBALL NEWS - iyabonga Zulu’s Nedbank Cup debut for Mamelodi Sundowns received mixed reviews from the club’s assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi as the league leaders look ahead to Thursday’s draw.
Zulu, who has played for Bafana Bafana, was signed from Platinum Stars in the January transfer window and given his first chance in last Friday’s first round tie away at Cape Town All Stars at the Athlone Stadium, deputising for Tebogo Langerman in the left fullback role.
“It was surprising to note that his first half was one of the best for a player that was his playing his first match at Sundowns,” said Mngqithi, who has been talking to the media while coach Pitso Mosimane is suspended.
