NATIONAL NEWS - Newly appointed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has made his first signing as Red Devils boss, bringing in Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly from Spanish giants Villareal on a four-year contract.

Bailly has been one of a number of players rumoured to be making his way to Old Trafford, and the 20-time champions finally got his signature on Wednesday.

The footballer was part of the Villareal side that reached the UEFA Europa League semi-finals last season, where they lost out to Liverpool on a 3-1 aggregate.

He was also part of the Ivorian team that clinched the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations title under Herve Renard playing every match for the Elephants in the competition.
