ATHLETICS NEWS - Having hosted a successful 2018 edition of the ASA Senior T&F + Combined Events Championships at Tuks Athletics Stadium in Tshwane last week, Athletics Gauteng North (AGN) were celebrating a dominant performance, after the official medal table being released by Athletics South Africa (ASA).
The AGN team, anchored by national record breakers Clarence Munyai, Carina Horn and Zeney van der Walt, raked in a total of 39 medals including 16 gold.
While the host province finished well clear of their nearest opponents, Boland Athletics also did well to punch above their weight, finishing second overall. The Boland team, which featured resurgent sprint star Justine Palframan, earned an impressive 25-medal haul including seven gold.
