NATIONAL NEWS - Police union South African Policing Union (Sapu) says it will be meeting with the CCMA on Thursday morning in an effort to find common ground and end the strike by 10111 call centre workers.
Workers are unhappy over wages and labour practices.
They demonstrated outside the provincial SA Police Service offices on Wednesday after negotiations reached a deadlock.
They claim they’re among the lowest earning government call centre agents despite being the busiest.
Sapu President Mpho Kwinika says, “The secretary of council has received the notice from CCMA indicating their concerns about the situation. And that in the interest of the public they will want this to be speedily resolved.”
The union is due to hold a briefing later on Thursday on the outcome of that meeting.
