According to Kitty Lamprecht, she was on her way to the kitchen at approximately 19:00 when she became aware of three armed men entering through the front door. In the house with her were her parents in law, her husband Hein and his 16-year old daughter.
Screaming, she fled down the hallway towards the master bedroom where the panic button for the armed response is situated and also where Hein was exercising at the time. Kitty immediately pressed the panic button to alert Hi-Tech.
The remaining residents of the household were in the living room.
