GEORGE NEWS - A foreign couple in their 50s are unharmed but traumatised after they were mugged in Wilderness yesterday, Monday 19 February.
According to Southern Cape Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie, the couple was attacked and robbed by three armed men on return from a hike on the Brown-hooded Kingfisher trail yesterday afternoon.
“At around 12:00 the victims parked their car at a picnic spot near Rondevlei to start their hike.
"Upon their return an hour and a half later the couple noticed three men who allegedly used balaclavas to cover their faces.
"On the way to their car the suspects confronted the couple, threatened them with knives and robbed them of a substantial amount of money, cellphones, sunglasses and other valuables,” he said.
