A breathalyser test confirmed an alcohol measurement of 2.02 milligrams per litre.
The arrest was made during a routine enforcement check yesterday.
Upon investigation, the city traffic officer was informed the driver allegedly sexually assaulted a teenager sitting in the back seat of the vehicle at the time.
The City of Cape Town’s JP Smith says, “He was then approached by the young woman sitting in the back of the vehicle. She informed him that she had been sexually assaulted by the driver.
She was a 17-year-old and he was giving her and her friend a lift home. She’d fallen asleep on the back seat and when she woke up she was naked and so was the driver.”
