GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Rooiberg Mountain wildfire remains active.

The wildfire still has three (3) active flanks.

Southern flank
CapeNature ground crew managed to gain access to parts of this fire line and suppress most of its south-eastern section. At the moment firefighters are increasing the size of the firebreak close to the active fire line.

The top part of the wildfire remains inaccessible and is still active in the kloof area.

Northern flank
This fireline is spreading predominantly west and in the direction of Rooiberg Wild Estate. The estate is not under threat.

Western flank and head of the wildfire
The fireline is actively burning westward high up in the mountain and currently poses no threat to infrastructure.

GRDM's Kannaland firefighters are deployed to the Greens Farmstead to keep the property safe in case the wildfire changes.

Roleplayers include GRDM Fire Services and CapeNature.
