MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The Zolani Youth Choir practised at the Dias Museum in Mossel Bay on Monday, 4 October as part of an educational tour to the Eastern Cape.
The choir, founded in 2012, is from a small town, Ashton in the Western Cape. It consists of 45 members, aged 12 to 25. Those who are learners represent various schools.
The public was welcome to come to watch the choir singing and tourist and locals attended the session.
"Singing and engaging in a choir teaches the members discipline and morals and helps them to look at the world with a different perspective," said conductor Odwa Mvunge.
The choir has won several awards and performed at several venues since 2012. It won the Southern Cape choir competition in 2015 in George. It has participated in numerous other choir competitions.
